Considerations for Bulk Liquid Transportation
When looking to lease equipment for bulk liquid transportation, it is important to have the following information available in order to provide so that we may provide prompt assistance:
- What is the product? The type of liquid, the container, loading/unloading requirements are factors in selecting suitable units.
- What is the volume of liquid to be transported?
- Does the route, loading, or unloading site have special requirements such as height or weight restrictions?
- Is the equipment properly insured?
Drop Frame Chassis for Bulk Liquid Transportation and Storage Equipment
The drop frame chassis is the most common chassis for the transportation and storage of bulk liquids. It may also be called a tank container chassis, ISO tank container chassis, a drop frame chassis, or a bulk liquid chassis. Drop frame tank container chassis, with a lower deck and longer length than a standard intermodal dry chassis is ideal for moving liquid via ISO tank containers or Flexi-bags. These chassis offer a low center of gravity for greater stability during transportation and reduce the chance of shifting contents or roll-overs. Older models may be more suited to short hauls and in-plant storage.
